Topic: "We Have Declared Disaster Mode. Now What?"
Many organizations were recently forced into disaster mode. For some the transition was effective, others lucky, and almost all were faced with making decisions at some point without the proper processes in place. Most of the time the front-line decisions are the organizations focus. While we cannot always know all the answers and many times guess at the best approach, we can discuss key components an organization can put in place for a proper disaster framework.
This presentation will discuss methodologies to establish the proper framework and help ensure the background resources such as the data center, network etc. in the organization have the capability to support the front line during a declaration. At time of disaster it can be difficult to predict the future course of action, the methodologies discussed will allow an organization to validate their current process and provide guidance in developing a framework to reduce the guesswork.
This session will begin with a discussion on the differences between Emergency Management, Business Continuance and Disaster Recovery plans. It will also include key discussion areas such as identification of requirements, resource demands, recovery plans, priority ranking and technical solutions.
