One-Day Event Covers Hot Topics in IT, Facilities

IT and facilities professionals in the Washington D.C. area participated in a one-day  Data Center World event on Tuesday hosted by AFCOM's Potomac Chapter at The Knight Conference Center at the Newseum, an interactive museum  dedicated to journalists.

John O'Connor, Manager of Technology Infrastructure Operations for Bloomberg , began the conference with his keynote on The Power of Data to Change Data Center Operations.

Nine other sessions followed on topics from Standards and Guidelines Needed to Support Data Center Trends;The Data Center Energy Crisis: Reduce, Renew, Unplug;,and a panel on Data Center Enterprise Transformation; to  Modular Data Center Building Blocks; the Art of Cyber Conflict; It's Not Your Mama's Data Center: IT, Facilities and the Great Divide; Souffles, Data Centers and Mountain Bikes: The Fallacy of Data Center Site Resilience; to Data Center Cooling Efficiency: Understanding the Science of the 4 Delta Ts; and Knowing Thyself, Brand Thyself: The Secrets to Growing Your Career Strategically and Successfuly.
